The first two series retain the numbering system established by Dr. Handberg.","Dr. Roger Handberg is the former chair of the University of Central Florida's Political Science Department (2003-2011), Associate Dean of Graduate Studies (1981-1990) and Acting Assistant Dean (1978-1981), and was involved in the University's first doctoral programs. He specializes in space policy, defense policy, the U.S. Supreme Court and judicial politics. Dr. Handberg also focuses on global energy politics, the mass media and politics, government policies in science and technology and American security policy, particularly military space policy and ballistic missile defense.","Dr. Handberg has worked as a political science professor at University of Central Florida since 1972. He has published nine books and more than 150 articles and book chapters. His recent books include Chinese Space Policy: A Study in Domestic and International Politics (2007), International Space Commerce: Building from Scratch (2006), and Reinventing NASA and the Quest for Outer Space: Human Spaceflight, Bureaucratic Agendas and National Politics (2003).","Handberg previously served for three years in the United States Army (1969-1971).
