Artist Statement: "What was formerly a bait shack on Matlacha Isle's, has turned into a jarring reminder of the pain our community has felt. Destroyed by Hurricane Ian in 2022, years later this community has yet to recoup from the destruction fully. These sawed off stilts are all that remain of this bait shack, they can be seen across the island in little gaps in the landscape."
["Vintage Florida Postcards
Vintage Florida Postcards
bf94ada4377f2dbc813062ab
1930-2025
1930-2025
collection
Collection
02/01/44","/repositories/2/resources/109
02/01/44","/repositories/2/resources/109","Vintage Florida Postcards, 1930-2025","Florida.","Seminole Tribe of Florida.","Photography.","Tourism--Florida.","Florida--Postcards","Postcards. ","The collection is open and available for research.","Materials included in the Vintage Florida Postcard collection include postcards from regions spanning the State of Florida.","Florida Gulf Coast University Special Collections","Dexter Press (West Nyack, New York)","Sell, William, Mrs.","English
02/01/44","/repositories/2/resources/109
1930-2025
Vintage Florida Postcards, 1930-2025
Vintage Florida Postcards, 1930-2025
Vintage Florida Postcards, 1930-2025
Florida Gulf Coast University Special Collections
Florida Gulf Coast University Special Collections
Florida.","Seminole Tribe of Florida.","Photography.","Tourism--Florida.
Florida.","Seminole Tribe of Florida.","Photography.","Tourism--Florida.
Florida.","Seminole Tribe of Florida.","Photography.","Tourism--Florida.
Florida--Postcards","Postcards.
Florida--Postcards","Postcards.
false
.5 Linear Feet
.5 Linear Feet
1930,1931,1932,1933,1934,1935,1936,1937,1938,1939,1940,1941,1942,1943,1944,1945,1946,1947,1948,1949,1950,1951,1952,1953,1954,1955,1956,1957,1958,1959,1960,1961,1962,1963,1964,1965,1966,1967,1968,1969,1970,1971,1972,1973,1974,1975,1976,1977,1978,1979,1980,1981,1982,1983,1984,1985,1986,1987,1988,1989,1990,1991,1992,1993,1994,1995,1996,1997,1998,1999,2000,2001,2002,2003,2004,2005,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010,2011,2012,2013,2014,2015,2016,2017,2018,2019,2020,2021,2022,2023,2024,2025

The collection is open and available for research.

Conditions Governing Access
The collection is open and available for research.

Materials included in the Vintage Florida Postcard collection include postcards from regions spanning the State of Florida.

Scope and Contents
Materials included in the Vintage Florida Postcard collection include postcards from regions spanning the State of Florida.
Florida Gulf Coast University Special Collections","Dexter Press (West Nyack, New York)","Sell, William, Mrs.
Florida Gulf Coast University Special Collections","Dexter Press (West Nyack, New York)
Sell, William, Mrs.
English
Describing Archives: A Content Standard
[0
https://flvc.lyrasistechnology.org/catalog/bf94ada4377f2dbc813062ab_aspace_dc429f55ec14bb45a090918179faec5f
https://flvc.lyrasistechnology.org/catalog/53f642d51ae3f1367537126d_aspace_94e5c1b1fff2b5594c85acdf711647d0#abstract_or_scope
["
An interior view of the original part of the Sanibel Community Church, built in 1917.
