He served in Northern France, the Rhineland, and Central Europe.  Particularly, he participated in the Battles of Metz, France and Saarlautern, Germany. Kenneth Larue Adams was the brother of Clark and also born in Mifflinburg, PA. He served with the Reconnaissance Company, 813th Tank Destroyer Battalion. The 813th Tank Destroyer Battalion arrived in North Africa on January 17th, 1943, where it supported British, French, and American troops in Tunisia. The 813th then sailed to the United Kingdom in November 1943. It disembarked at Utah Beach on June 17, 1944, where it joined the drive to the Falaise Gap. It entered Belgium in September 1944. It supported the advance to battle the German Nordwind offensive in January 1945.
