The first faculty constitution was created in 1971 and established a set of fundamental rules and values by which the senate will thereon govern the university. The senate is composed of three classes of committees including: operational committees, curricular committees and councils, and joint committees and councils. These committees and subcommittees determine important academic and administrative university wide changes.","For example, the Strategic Planning Council is a reporting committee of the Faculty Senate who assesses areas of the university that need improvement and report on the best way to act upon these areas. The recommendations they provide are sent to the University President and deal with all strategic planning issues, including academic planning, institutional effectiveness, accountability, budget planning, and student services.","According to the constitution, the UCF Faculty Senate members are elected by members of the general faculty within their academic units. The selected members then serve a two year term within a specific committee or subcommittee. The faculty constitution determines the laws by which the senate governs the university and is ratified as needed throughout each academic year.","Collection processed by and finding aid prepared by Nadeen Kiwan in 2015. Replaced all metal paper clips, staples, and rubber bands with plastic paper clips. Placed all newspaper clippings between archival paper. Removed documents from three ring binders and placed them in acid free folders and then in acid free boxes. All digital items have been copied and added to the collection. The finding aid was placed into Archon, with adjustments made for Archon and resulting in edition 2, by Mary Rubin in 2015. The materials relating to the Strategic Planning Council was initially processed as an individual collection by Jeffrey Baumiller in 2008 before being added into this collection in 2018. The acquisition method field and the subjects were updated by Kryslynn Collazo in 2018, resulting in edition 3.","For further information regarding the university archives please consult our website .
