He graduated New Rochelle High School.  Prior to joining the U.S. Army, he worked as a civilian courier for the U.S. Army.  He entered service with the U.S. Army Air Corps on February 16, 1943 and attended Basic training in Miami Beach, FL, Armament training at Buckley and Lowry Fields in Colorado, and gunnery school at Kingman Field, AZ. Mckee Sr. was assigned to the 324th Squadron, 91st Bombardment Group, and was sent to England on December 31, 1943.  The B-17 on which McKee Sr. served was combat damaged and crashed into the North Sea on March 29, 1944 on Mckee Sr's seven mission.  The entire crew was rescued by the German Navy.  McKee Sr. became as prisoner of war at Luft Stalag 17B near Krems, Austria. He was liberated in Bramall, Bavaria on May 3, 1945 by the 13th U.S. Armored Division and returned to the U.S. on June 12, 1945.  After the war, Mckee Sr. worked as a civilian fireman at Fr. Slocum, NY. He graduated New Rochelle High School.  Prior to joining the U.S. Army, he worked as a civilian courier for the U.S. Army.  He entered service with the U.S. Army Air Corps on February 16, 1943 and attended Basic training in Miami Beach, FL, Armament training at Buckley and Lowry Fields in Colorado, and gunnery school at Kingman Field, AZ. Mckee Sr. was assigned to the 324th Squadron, 91st Bombardment Group, and was sent to England on December 31, 1943.  The B-17 on which McKee Sr. served was combat damaged and crashed into the North Sea on March 29, 1944 on Mckee Sr's seven mission.  The entire crew was rescued by the German Navy.  McKee Sr. became as prisoner of war at Luft Stalag 17B near Krems, Austria. He was liberated in Bramall, Bavaria on May 3, 1945 by the 13th U.S. Armored Division and returned to the U.S. on June 12, 1945.  After the war, Mckee Sr. worked as a civilian fireman at Fr. Slocum, NY. When able, the donor's original order and file level labels were maintained.","Dianora Niccolini was born in Florence, Italy, but moved to the United States at the age of nine. Niccolini relocated to New York City to study art, but moved from the realm of dance to photography after meeting the noted photographer Weegee. Niccolini's first exhibit was a 1974 study of female nudes, followed by a Sunday New York Times-reviewed show of the male nude the following year. Niccolini is considered a pioneering female photographer in the realm of photographing the male nude and her images of the male nude pre-date those of body builders popularized by Robert Mapplethorpe. Her photographs have been featured in several anthologies of nude figurative photography. Niccolini was the first president of Professional Women Photographers (PWP), serving 1979-1984, under which PWP became the leading professional organization of its kind. Niccolini has taught photography at the Germain school of photography, The New York Institute of photography, The New York Institute of Technology and, The Learning Annex.","This collection includes original silver gelatin photographs and chemomonoprints by photographer Dianora Niccolini, as well as a poster and other reproductions of original artwork.
