She attended elementary school in St. Petersburg but graduated from Lakeland High School in 1934 and Florida Southern College in 1937 with a BS. Ed degree. She attended graduate classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburg, but obtained her Master's degree in Education from Pennsylvania State University in 1942. In 1968 she received an honorary degree of Doctor of Human letters by Philathea College of London, Ontario, Canada, and she took graduate level classes at the University of Florida, but she never finished a Ph.D. She died December 14, 2006 after retiring from Florida Southern College in 1981 but teaching as an adjunct for two more years. ","She worked as a student assistant in the Art department (1936-37) at FSC . It was at this time that Dr. Spivey, president of the college, asked her to show Mr. Frank Lloyd Wright around the campus the first day he visited in 1937. Stoddard was then hired to teach art at the campus in the fall on 1937 and continued the role of liaison with Wright for the rest of his life. She was also responsible for handling much of the correspondence that occurred during the construction. Because of the nature of her responsibility with the project and her over forty-plus year tenure at the school, Stoddard planned to write a book on the history of the campus, and accumulated sources regarding Florida Southern College and Frank Lloyd Wright. Friend and author Lawrence Kinsley utilized her extensive archive for his 2016 text, A Child of the Sun: Frank Lloyd Wright's West Campus Project at Florida Southern College. ","More information about Stoddard can be found in her FSC staff file, also in the presidential correspondence of the three presidents she served under at FSC. Stanley Jones Foundation includes information about the foundation which was the predecessing project of Florida Southern College before the introduction of Frank Lloyd Wright. The project ended abruptly without much explanation.","Film Reels are ordered by the placement they were received in by the author.","Grolier Definitions includes information pertaining to words utilized by Frank Lloyd Wright, Florida Southern College, and Kinsley- and the context to which they were used for the construction of the buildings and Kinsey's monograph.","Letters and Correspondence are separated into two groups as Kinsley separated them: first letters that pertain more to personal matters ordered chronologically, followed by more business-related correspondences also ordered chronologically.","Photographs are arranged by the numerical system established by Lawrence Kinsley. Photographs without a number are then arranged by other identifiers such as printing/publication dates; i.e. Bryn Allen Printing, and followed by photos that have no identifiers.","Plans are organized in a numerical order established by Kinsley; followed by those without a number which are then organized alphabetically.","Permission to publish material from the Donna Stoddard Papers must be obtained from Sarah D. and L. This mix of politics, social activism, and art shaped his life. ","After finishing elementary and secondary school in Tehran, Shafaie enrolled in Shiraz University (formerly Pahlavi) to study National Development and Sociology.
