From 1984-1999, Dr. Garrity was Director of District Management for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's Southwest District office in Tampa serving under four gubernatorial administrations. From 1977-1984, he was the Urban Environmental coordinator for the City of Tampa. Dr. Garrity also worked in the private sector as a consultant for Conservation Consultants Inc. from 1974 to 1977.
