Additions to the collection are processed with same arrangement starting over. beginning with the next consecutive box.","The Democratic Women's Club of Florida, Inc., (DWCF) began in 1956 as an organization for women to cooperate together in electing Democrats to local, state, and federal offices. The DWCF started as a small organization with a handful of members, but experienced large growth in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1972, the DWCF received its charter, qualifying it as a corporation. Today, the organization supports almost forty clubs throughout Florida and has been affiliated with the National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW) since 1980. Florida is recognized as a Full Member State under the NFDW because it has a statewide Democratic Women's club organization; however, the NFDW does not directly influence the DWCF in its operations.","\nThe DWCF has a Board of Directors consisting of a president, secretary, treasurer, and supporting officers overseeing nine regions. Army--Uniforms","Drafting Tools","Bronze Star Medal (U.S.)","Contax camera","World War, 1939-1945","World War, 1939-1945--Philippines","World War, 1939-1945--Cartography","This collection is open to all researchers.","Clyde Campbell Beaver was born on August 1, 1910 in Redondo Beach, CA.  He graduated from Redondo High School in 1928.  Before serving, he was a mine mechanic and a tile salesman.  In June 1941 in Los Anglees, CA, he was inducted into the U.S. Army.  He completed basic training at Camp Roberts, San Miguel, CA and served in the Corps of Engineers.  He was a draftsman in the Pacific Theater April 13, 1942 through March 1, 1945 at the Office of the Chief Engineer, General Headquarters, in the Southwest Pacific.  He mapped potential airfields for the invasion of the Philippine jungles for General Douglas MacArthur and received the Bronze Star Medal on July 4, 1945 for his service.  He met his wife, Adele Elizabeth Gilbert, in Australia and, they lived in California after the war.  Clyde Campbell Beaver passed away on October 22, 1999 in Morro Bay, California, and is buried in Los Osos Memorial Park, Los Osos, California.","This collection was donated by Pamela Hutchins and Bonnie Pettersen.
