She joined a small accounting firm in 1969 as a payroll clerk, eventually rising to the ranks of Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of the company now known as Raymond James Financial, Inc. During her 43-year career at Raymond James, she developed the company's Learning and Development team, was involved in the company's transition to a publicly traded company, and established the Information Technology department. Lynn earned her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy over a 16-year period while taking night classes at St. Petersburg Junior College and the University of South Florida (USF) St. Petersburg. She earned her Executive Master of Business Administration, grauduating with honors from USF Tampa in 1988. Her philanthropic contributions to the Tampa Bay area supported education and local history. She funded scholarships, internships, study abroad opportunities, academic programs, and facilities across the USF system, including being the benefactor for Lynn Pippenger Hall on the USF St. Petersburg campus.
