From humble beginnings, four generations have built Noble into the business that it is today. William G. Roe, the founder of Noble, began a fresh fruit distributorship in upstate New York. Wanting to be closer to his network of suppliers, he moved his family to Florida and built a packing house next to the Seaboard Coastline Railroad (a common practice in those days). It was at this time his sons, Frederick and Willard, began planting citrus groves, focusing specifically on tangerines. In fact, the first tangerine trees planted were the Dancey. In 1927, the \"Noble®\" name was registered and thus began the packing of only the best tangerines. (Taken from WG Roe and Sons official LinkedIn Profile: Wm. G. The series is arranged by order of importance, beginning with commercial attractions, and ending with other study areas. The types of reports vary, depending on the stage of the project under analysis and may include photographs, maps, architectural renderings, and pamphlets. Reports are in order by number, provided by Price. Reports by HPC are numbered 1-900; other firms collected reports number over 1000. Each entry includes the name of the corporation for which the study was conducted, the title of the report, the location of the project, other economic research companies involved (if applicable), and the date of the report's completion. In 1994, Price was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Themed Entertainment Association (TEA) and was elected to the International Association of Amusement Parks Hall of Fame in 1995. For 37 years and up until his death, Price served, alongside Edie Wasserman, as a trustee of the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). Price also published a book in 2004 about his work in the themed entertainment and attractions business titled Walt's Revolution! By the Numbers . More than 40,000 American men refused to fight during World War II. Citing principled opposition, they declared themselves conscientious objectors. Rejecting combat duty, nearly 12,000 men entered Civilian Public Service (CPS) with the intent to perform \"work of national importance\" as an alternative to combat duty. The CPS program was set up by members of the historic peace churches (Mennonites, Brethren, and Quakers) and participated in by pacifists from other churches, of no specific religious persuasion, and, in the case of a few, no persuasion except not to fight in that particular war. CPS men worked as aides in mental hospitals, volunteered as smoke jumpers in forest fires, and participated in grueling medical and scientific experiments. Frazer and O'Sullivan use the oral histories of 15 CPS men and two of their wives to illuminate their experience during World War II. ","Heather T. During her tenure, she served as Department Chair and Director of Graduate Studies. She also pioneered the study of women's history at FAU, helping establish the Women's Studies program, which is now the Center for Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies. Dr. Frazer taught courses in women's history, modern Britain and British Empire, Indian history, and oral history.","John O'Sullivan (1939-2000) was a professor of history at Florida Atlantic University.
