He taught at several of Tampa's Jr. high schools, including Washington, West Tampa, Phillip Shore, Franklin, and Chamberlain Adult School. He ran for mayor of Tampa against Curtis Hixon in 1949. She also wanted to bring more attention and educate the public and students about the African American Legacy.
