After his death, his daughter, Theodora Burke decided to donate additional materials to the original collection held by the Institution on WWII in 2015.","Chronological","Edward T. Burke Jr. served in the U.S. Navy as a Chief Torpedoman from 1940 to 1946. He then served in the U.S. Naval Reserve, Submarine Division, from 1946 to 1948. His service was spent in the Atlantic and Mediterranean theaters. After World War II, Mr. Burke was an active participant in various memorial initiatives and military servicemen's clubs. He biographed his time in the U.S. Navy and his post-war life as well and donated his collection to the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience in 2003.
