They may contain offensive or outdated language and imagery because of content relating to ability, gender, race, religion, sexuality, sexual orientation, and other categories. While some descriptions in our finding aids are written by staff, others reflect language that was used by the people and organizations that created the material. When we encounter problematic language that we believe a staff member created, we update it.
