For example, FSU worked with an Australian team to rewrite the program for their own use but all production was done at FSU.
On the other hand, IMS pioneered the use of digital instructional media into the classroom. IMS was the first major project using multimedia funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the resulting subprojects led the way in introducing a model of teaching using inquiry methodologies. "Science Vision" was the first major project funded by the NSF in educational technology. Following this project, the FSU project team received a grant to do a multimedia videodisc/computer program called "EcoVentures: Learning in Florida's Environment," which included a videodisc, computer software, and accompanying print materials. With the increasing technical capabilities of the World Wide Web, the project team began creating science instructional materials using the Internet. Two of its programs, "Silent Invaders" and "Fire in Wildhorse Basin," are delivered entirely over the Internet.
A theme running through the collection is the migration from print, to videodiscs, then CDs, to DVD and finally to the web as the delivery system of the future.

[Title of Item], [Date of Item], [Box and Folder number], Florida State University Science Education Curriculum Development Collection, Special Collections & Archives, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. https://purl.lib.fsu.edu/fa/MSS-2012-0322

[Title of Item], [Date of Item], [Box and Folder number], Florida State University Science Education Curriculum Development Collection, Special Collections & Archives, Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida. https://purl.lib.fsu.edu/fa/MSS-2012-0322

This collection documents the creation and development of science teaching materials produced by the science education program at Florida State University from the 1960s to 2005. The collection consists of the products of all major projects created in science education: <emph render="italic">The Intermediate Science Curriculum Study</emph> (ISCS), <emph render="italic">Individualized Science Curriculum Study </emph>(ISIS), <emph render="italic">The Interactive Media Science</emph> (IMS) projects. Projects created by IMS are <emph render="italic">Science Vision</emph>, <emph render="italic">EcoVentures: Focus On The Gulf</emph>; <emph render="italic">Burning Issues I</emph> and <emph render="italic">Burning Issues II</emph>; <emph render="italic">Fire in Wildhorse Basin</emph> and; <emph render="italic">Silent Invaders</emph>. Also included are files of the original proposals to funding agencies, planning meetings, and other correspondence for each of the projects.

Scope and Contents
This collection documents the creation and development of science teaching materials produced by the science education program at Florida State University from the 1960s to 2005. The collection consists of the products of all major projects created in science education: The Intermediate Science Curriculum Study (ISCS), Individualized Science Curriculum Study (ISIS), The Interactive Media Science (IMS) projects. Projects created by IMS are Science Vision , EcoVentures: Focus On The Gulf ; Burning Issues I and Burning Issues II ; Fire in Wildhorse Basin and; Silent Invaders . Also included are files of the original proposals to funding agencies, planning meetings, and other correspondence for each of the projects.

Rights statement: All requests for permission to quote, publish, broadcast or otherwise reproduce from manuscripts must be submitted in writing to the Associate Dean for Special Collections & Archives.
